Flashy way to fill a hole.

Baked chicken, fresh spinach and grapefruit flesh. Slice of biscuit bread.

Giraffe.

Gotta be my fave eatery. I haven't been in a few years so they've changed the menu but not the essence. Standard prices for quality flavoursome food on South bank a skin-on-chip's throw from the Thames.

This is Emma. Emma lurrrrves her food and she is smiling because her lunch had arrived. (Not because I was taking a photo)
She ordered the standard beef burger and I went for the veggie option. The best veggie burger I've ever had, on par with the Thoroughly Wild Meat build your own lamb burger.
Had such a lovely time, I'm not one for crowds but even a heaving Giraffe created a pleasant atmosphere and service was on top form.

Relish substitute

Had a massive craving for relish, unfortunately I had none soooo I made something to substitute it.
Sweet pepper, chilli, S&P, vinegar, soy and ketchup. I layered this ontop of some lamb, mint and feta cheese burgers. With a side of red cabbage & mayo and crinkle chips.

No country for old men..... WHAT?!!!!

What is with the ending, I ain't stop thinking or talking about it!
I'm glad Ive watched it a second time, I have the same kind of appreciation for this film as I do with pulp fiction. It's the same kind of violence, principals, seeming pointless conversations.
NCFOM forces you to slow down and appreciate every camera shot, angle and character.
*Mr & Mrs Moss' relationship brings something so touching, something that warms your heart. The marriage alone makes the film worth watching.

I have never been so in love with a film of which, I'm so unsatisfied. Definitely need to watch this bad man a few hundred times.

Omelette's love Leftovers

The previous evening I made a west indian dinner of fried saltfish with peppers, onions and spices accompanied with boiled yam and green banana. My lactose, gluten, chicken, pork& potato intolerant Mum was struggling to figure out what to have for dinner. So I whipped up an omelette with the left over fish mix, sprinkling of chives, I fried some thinly cut slices of yam and she loved it.
Nothing worse than wasting food...or a boring omelette.

Pastry cream

My first attempt at pastry cream. Followed Anna Olsen's pastry cream recipe, layered it onto of some fresh raspberries then crushed milk chocolate biscuits all over the top. Delish :)
(Also made a lactose & gluten free version with goats milk and ginger biscuits)

Reggae Reggae sauce & mayo

Errrr LUSH!

No bake cheesecake

My mum's never liked baked cheesecake so for most of my 20 years I haven't been exposed to cheesecake but a recipe she saw on the tv brought this Lime &white chocolate cheesecake into our home.
Refreshing, sweet and indulgent, this cheesecake is lemon squeasy easy and tastes amazing!
Shortbread & white chocolate base with lime juice &zest, condensed milk and Philly cheese topping. Yum!
This is just the beginning of my love affair with cheesecake.

Browning bananas?

Make a banana loaf but jazz it up with some dark chocolate flakes or caramelised walnuts (I chose both)
Perfect with a cup of tea :)
