Mowgs, can we have burgers?

Going shopping with my bf and his housemate is a protein fest. They decide they want a burger night and buy some ready formed, mild flavoured, burger.
I promised them I would make them something better the next week from scratch and here it is... Mince, mustard and grated red onion. Sweet potato chips and salad. Treat.

Romantic dinner for three

My bf went to an all you can eat whilst I sat down with his bestfriends, the couple wafflejaff to my first attempt at lasagne.
I didnt follow a recipe as such... Made a full of flavour mince & tomato sauce, a bechemal sauce and layered it up topped with even more cheese and lardons, baked forever it was a yummy molten mess.

Bev?

Jazz Tequila...
Tequila, blue curaƧao and OJ

Seems trivial buuuut...

I don't know why it took me so long to notice that the Nandos salt shaker is in the shape of an egg!
So amused..

Afternoon Tea is underrated by students

My housemate Culey decided we were going to have scones with Jam and cream. This was definitely a smart move for a mild afternoon in our city.
Afternoon tea should have a fuss made over it. By everyone and anyone.
Go on...you know you want some.

Banana loaf

Replace soda with powder and lemon/vinegar with maple syrup, bake for 45 in a dodgy student oven at 200 and hope for the best.
Hoping worked because it is the best despite not having nuts or chocolate in. Delish!

Fish Pie Time

Sooooo Ive been waiting for my Save With Jamie cookbook, greatly disappointed that it hasnt arrived yet but I havent let it discourage me from completely winging it with his "Sweetpea Fish Pie"
Since moving in with my 4 3rd year housemates ive been determined to cook for us. Im so happy to announce that this complete guesswork of a "pie" tasted great! Granted, I shouldnt really call it a pie...more a soup but I know where I went wrong and will fix it for next time but no one has died and seconds were asked for :D

Cod fillets poached in milk, s&p and rosemary (not my first choice out the only fish friendly herb in the cupboard) prawns, peas & a flour roux. Topped with not enough sweet potato, spiced with cajun seasoning and topped with cheddar, finished under the grill.
Despite the horriffic appearance it was pretty yummy, the prawns were perfect and the sweet potato (a diversion from what I can remember of Jamie's recipe) was such a winner.

I love the joy of feeding people and them enjoying it. Now Ive started I dont want to stop, just to keep improving (and fattening up the housemates)
Top satisfaction!
